Live Stream Classes - June 2020

Stuck at home?  Grab your favorite web-surfing device and take a dance class!
We're currenly offering live stream classes and hope to see you in these classes! These will be launched as Ariel Classes At-Home, where teachers will be inviting you into their homes (virtually). These classes will be one hour each and will be live-streamed via Zoom. We’ll need a minimum of six students registered in order to launch each of these classes. We’ll be doing our best to keep our students learning and progressing at home, but we understand that video classes are not the same as learning in person at the studio. Therefore, tuition has been discounted.

Download the application to your computer and you will be emailed with a link to “Join a Meeting”.

    Class Format
We’ll be focusing on steps that mostly stay in one place, nothing that travels a lot. We know it's not ideal, but challenging situations call for creative solutions. We are nothing if not a creative dance family!

    Tips for Successful Zoom Classes

  • Arrive 10 min before class starts to make sure there are no technical issues.
  • Make sure you have a stable internet connection.
  • We suggest using a laptop computer or hooking your laptop to a TV for a better view.
  • Share your camera so the instructor knows how you’re doing.
  • Please make sure to mute your audio! If you don’t, any background noise will be heard by all while overriding the audio of the teacher and the music.
  • Make sure you have sufficient space, a usable floor (i.e., wood or short carpet is preferable over tile) and a makeshift barre (use a chair).
  • Usual dance attire is preferred.
  • When using Zoom you have two viewing options – one to view all videos as a grid, and the other to view the “speaker” (teacher).
    • Speaker view will allow you to see the teacher larger (it will fill the screen).Speaker view is a better option in order to see the teacher clearer & to follow along with the class.
    • Gallery view will allow you to see everyone in the meeting.
  • Should Zoom crash during class, it’s probably due to an overuse of Zoom.  If that happens during your class, please rejoin the class using the same link provided.
  • There may be a delay between the music you hear and the music your instructor hears.  In addition, the screen may freeze on occasion. This latency is caused by transmitting the signal over the internet.  Just be aware of this problem as there is no group fix. We appreciate your flexibility, patience, and understanding at this time.
