Profile

Noriko is the founder of Genki Dance School in San Jose, which she led for 17 years before closing it in 2025. With a primary focus on jazz and hip-hop, she brings a lifelong background in dance to her teaching. She began her training in ballet and jazz in Japan, where she also captained her high school dance team. Over the years, she has taught at various venues, including Stanford University and the YMCA. Currently, Noriko teaches Zumba Gold®–based dance exercise classes at senior facilities and runs biweekly dance classes for children with special needs.
From 2016 to 2025, while directing Genki Dance School, Noriko consistently led three or more teams to competitions such as KAR and Spotlight each year. Her students earned numerous awards, reflecting her commitment to their growth and development.
Noriko’s passion for movement extends beyond dance—she trains daily with the goal of competing in fitness competitions. Her drive and enthusiasm are at the heart of her teaching, and she aims to inspire each student to find joy through dance.
