Ballet
Class Description
Absolute Beginner Ballet
(teen/adult)

Are you new to ballet dance with little to no experience? Join us for our absolute beginner class and learn the basics to get you started! This class will introduce you to ballet terminology, basic ballet positions and steps. It's also designed to promote technique, strength, and flexibility in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Women: Black fitted T-shirt or cami, black leggings or black jazz pants or leotard and tights, black or pink ballet slippers. Chiffon ballet skirt is optional.
Men: Black or white t-shirt and black long shorts to knee or black jazz pants, black yoga /workout pants, black ballet slippers.

Beg./Int. Ballet
(teen/adult)

Drill fundamental ballet exercises without the pressure of learning complicated choreography. Work on strengthening and stretching all muscle groups to achieve a dancer’s body and ballet lines. Great for beginning dancers who want to learn the basics and develop proper ballet form. Also useful for intermediate and advanced dancers who want to focus on their technique.

Class format includes warm up and quick stretch, technique drills, floor work, stretching, break down a difficult ballet step and cool down.

Women: Black fitted T-shirt or cami, black leggings or black jazz pants or leotard and tights, black or pink ballet slippers. Chiffon ballet skirt is optional.
Men: Black or white t-shirt and black long shorts to knee or black jazz pants, black yoga /workout pants, black ballet slippers.

Intermediate Ballet
(teen/adult)

Class will include both barre and centre work designed to facilitate proper technique that can be translated to other forms of dance.  Students will be asked to begin dancing at the barre, coordinating use of the entire body to express themselves.  Barre work will include strengthening exercises to improve batterie, pointe, grand allegro, and adagio.  Centre work will include adagio, petite and grand allegro, and turns and leaps traditionally performed by men.

Women: Black fitted T-shirt or cami, black leggings or black jazz pants or leotard and tights, black or pink ballet slippers. Chiffon ballet skirt is optional.
Men: Black or white t-shirt and black long shorts to knee or black jazz pants, black yoga /workout pants, black ballet slippers.

Pre-Ballet
(3-6 yrs)

Through the structure of the class, children are supported in learning sequencing, turn-taking, problem-solving skills, impulse control, and cooperation. Your child will learn to understand and reproduce rhythm, be introduced to ballet technique explore creativity and imagination, and gain body and spatial awareness.
This class ill cover the fundamentals of classical ballet technique. It is a more formal setting that will give students the discipline to mature as dancers. The importance of strength, flexibility, rhythm, musicality, and memorization will be stressed. Basics of performing will be introduced.

Wear: Girls should wear leotard (any style/any color) and tights, ballet shoes. Boys should wear fitted t-shirt and sweat pants or play pants and ballet shoes.

Ballet
(6-9 yrs)

This class ill cover the fundamentals of classical ballet technique. It is a more formal setting that will give students the discipline to mature as dancers. The importance of strength, flexibility, rhythm, musicality, and memorization will be stressed. Basics of performing will be introduced.
Wear: leotard, tights, chiffon skirt optional), pink or black ballet shoes.

BELLY DANCE

Belly Dance

Beginning Belly Dance - Technique & Drills, Tuesday, 7:45 pm-9:00 pm

This class will introduce students to the beautiful and elegant art form of Middle Eastern belly dance while building strength, flexibility and great muscle control. The class focuses on building basic belly dance vocabulary. Students will learn the proper posture, isolation techniques, essential moves and traveling steps, and simple dance combinations. Each class includes cardio and stretch warm-up and lots of drills - a good workout guaranteed!

Intermediate Belly Dance - Choreography & Performance, Tuesday, 9:00 pm-10:15 pm

This class offers more challenge to students who already feel comfortable with belly dance essentials. Students are introduced to more difficult techniques, transitions between movements, layering, complex dance combinations and choreographies, props. Musical interpretation and performance skills will be taught as well. Students are encouraged to participate in group performance projects!
Wear: cami, fitted t-shirt, jazz/Pilates/Yoga pants and go barefoot.

Tribal Fusion Belly Dance

Tribal Fusion Belly Dance is a modern form of belly dance which has evolved from American Tribal Style belly dancing, blending elements of ATS with any other style of dance. It frequently incorporates elements from Popping, Hip Hop, Breakdance, 'Egyptian' or 'Cabaret' belly dance, as well as from traditional forms such as Flamenco, Kathak, Bhangra, Balinese, and other folkloric dance styles.

The first half of it we spend working on isolations, popping&locking and simple combinations. Then we connect all the combinations we’ve learnt in to a choreography and practicing it for the second part of the class. No prior training is needed.
Wear: cami, fitted t-shirt, jazz/Pilates/Yoga pants and go barefoot.

CONTEMPORARY
Class Description
Contemporary Dance
(teen/adult)
Contemporary Dance fuses ballet, modern dance and it draws from other philosophies of movement that are outside the realm of classical dance technique. This style can be danced to almost any type of music, or united with other dance forms to create new styles of movement.

Women: Black fitted T-shirt or cami, black leggings or black jazz pants or leotard and tights, black or pink ballet slippers. Chiffon ballet skirt is optional.
Men: Black or white t-shirt and black long shorts to knee or black jazz pants, black yoga /workout pants and go barefoot.

Beginning
Hip Hop

This class is designed for dancers with no prior experience and it includes a warm-up, hip hop progressions, and a short routine . The focus is placed mostly on style and loosely on technique.

Wear: For men, t-shirt, basketball shorts or workout pants and clean athletic shoes. For ladies, cami or leotard, jazz/Pilates/Yoga pants and clean athletic shoes.

Learn to dance like you see in the latest. music video clips. Students will learn technique, style and choreographed routine geared toward a dance concert. Selected dancers will be invited to perform in the Ariel Dance Productions' annual concert.

Hip Hop Heels
(teen/adult)
Hip Hop Heels dance style is a fusion of street and sassy. This class is a fun, sexy, cheeky and high-energy workout, guaranteed to get your heart pumping and bring out your inner diva!. The class offers a warm up followed by a hot hip hop burlesque routine. Just bring your own sexy self and an attitude! High heels or jazz shoes can be worn.

Wear: cami or leotard, jazz/Pilates/Yoga pants and clean athletic shoes or ankle booties.
Intermediate Hip Hop

A challenging Funk for your feet. The class covers street dance moves such as: hip hop, popping, locking, hitting, jamming to name a few. Don't be surprised if you find yourself being the center of attention the next time you are groovin' on the dance floor at your favorite club.

JAZZ (BROADWAY,LATIN FUSION JAZZ, LEAPS JUMPS & TURNS, LYRICAL,)
Class Description
Beginning Broadway Jazz (teen/adult)

Do you love musicals? Here's your chance to express a story or scene from a musical through dance. Vocal technique will not be taught. We'll be dancing to some of your favorite showtunes and songs from Broadway musicals and movies such as Chorus Line, The Pajama Game, The Wiz, Chicago, All That Jazz, Cabaret, etc.

Wear: For men, t-shirt, basketball shorts/workout pants and black jazz shoes. For women, cami or leotard, jazz/Pilates/Yoga pants and jazz shoes.

Beginning-Intermediate Jazz
(teen/adult)
This class is for students with some background in dance, although not necessarily experience in jazz. Students will continue to work on technique, balance, strength, coordination, jumps, turns, and advanced combinations.

Wear: For men, t-shirt, basketball shorts/workout pants and black jazz shoes. For women, cami or leotard, jazz/Pilates/Yoga pants and jazz shoes.
Intermediate Jazz
(teen/adult)

This is a high-energy class that focuses on warm-up, across the floor work, multiple turns, and complex dance combinations: Afro Jazz, Hip Hop, Funk, Lyrical, Musical Theater, and Traditional styles. Students can expect fun, high energy music, experienced teacher and a great workout!

Wear: For men, t-shirt, basketball shorts/workout pants and black jazz shoes. For women, cami or leotard, jazz/Pilates/Yoga pants and jazz shoes.

Beginning Latin Fusion Jazz (teen/adult)

Latin jazz is a sensual, energetic, fun dance class that incorporates classic jazz moves as well as jazz, cha-cha, salsa, mambo, afro-Cuban and more. Class includes a warm up, followed by isolation exercises and turn techniques plus a short choreography.

Wear: For men, t-shirt, workout pants and black jazz shoes. For women, cami or leotard, jazz/Pilates/Yoga pants and jazz shoes.

Leaps, Jumps & Turns (teen/adult)

This class helps students develop proper technique with the turns, jumps, leaps and tricks used in all forms of dance. Class format includes a warm up, and drills across the floor.
Wear: cami or leotard, jazz/Pilates/Yoga pants and jazz shoes.

Lyrical
(teen/adult)

Lyrical dance style draws from ballet, jazz, contemporary and modern dance. This dance style dance is expressive, subtle, dynamic, and it focuses on conveying musicality and emotion through movement. It is a combination of intricate, highly technical, and pedestrian/naturalistic moves. It is commonly set to popular music with vocals as well as rich instrumental portions of a pop song.
Wear: cami or leotard, jazz/Pilates/Yoga pants and jazz shoes.

TAP
Class Description

Beginning Tap (teen/adult)

The class emphasis is on developing proper tap technique, producing clear tap sounds, and having fun. The class includes warm ups, across the floor exercises and a short combination.

Wear: For men, t-shirt, workout pants and black jazz shoes. For women, cami or leotard, jazz/Pilates/Yoga pants and tap shoes.

Intermediate Tap (teen/adult)

Students will learn time steps, clogs, tap terminology, and rhythms through the more intricateted steps and advanced combinations. More emphasis will be placed on intermediate turns, jumps, and tricks.  

Wear: For men, t-shirt, workout pants and black jazz shoes. For women, cami or leotard, jazz/Pilates/Yoga pants and tap shoes.
